LET’S FILL THE HOUSE AT HENDRICKS LIVE!
The Hendricks Symphonic Society was founded in the spring of 2007 as a result of collaboration
between a group of music lovers from Hendricks County, with the shared vision of making
quality music available in the area. The initial call for auditions brought out 250 music lovers,
from whom were selected a 75-member orchestra and an 85-member chorus.
Our first season consisted of seven concerts, consisting of single free introductory concert in
October 2007 that was followed by three sets of pairs of concerts. In our second year, we
expanded our subscription series to six pairs of concerts plus a free chamber concert at Bartlett
Chapel United Methodist Church. Seasons since have included summer concerts in the parks,
and a youth concerto competition series that still continues today. The society also has a youth
scholarship program for school age musicians who are highly qualified and recommended by
their music directors.
We are now nearing the end of our 17th season of quality performances in Hendricks County, and
just completed our first weekend of concerts at Hendricks Live! We are looking forward to
performing in the Hendricks Live! concert hall for many years to come, and are honored to have
been invited to perform for the Opening Night Celebration.
